How It Works

Seven steps from first call to finished book.

Most books finish in two to six months. The pace depends on how quickly your family returns interviews, documents, and photos.

1

A free conversation

Thirty minutes to talk about your family, what you already know, and what you hope to leave behind.

2

Agreement and deposit

A simple agreement spells out the book, the timeline, and the payment schedule.

3

Your family packet

You send the photos, documents, and names you have through your private client portal.

4

Research and interviews

We search census, military, court, church, and newspaper records, and interview the family members who still remember.

5

Draft chapters

You read each chapter as it is written, and the family reviews them together. Two rounds of revisions are included.

6

Design and proof

Restored photographs, layout, and a printed proof for your approval.

7

Delivery

Ten hardcover copies arrive with your Family Archive. If you choose, we build a presentation with speaker notes for your family, or Dr. Gober presents the book at your reunion or celebration.

Throughout the project, your private client portal shows exactly where your book stands.
